Dyslexia, ADHD & Learning Support in Malta:
Brain Camp for Kids
When learning feels difficult, understanding your child’s needs is the first step towards finding the right support.
Does your child struggle with reading, maintaining attention, following instructions or keeping up with schoolwork? At Mediterranean Brain & Spine Center in Naxxar, Malta, we help families explore the skills and challenges affecting their child’s participation in learning and everyday activities.
Our Brain Camp for Kids, intensive programs and after-school programs offer individualised opportunities to practise skills through purposeful movement, engaging activities and structured support.
Led by USA-Trained Dr. Cristin Fitzpatrick
Dr. Cristin Fitzpatrick, Founder and Director of Mediterranean Brain & Spine Center, is a USA-trained Doctor of Chiropractic with postgraduate training in functional neurology and paediatric brain development, and recipient of Malta’s International Healthcare Professional of the Year award.
She leads an international, multidisciplinary team focused on understanding each child’s strengths, developmental needs and family goals.
Understanding Difficulties with Reading, Attention and Schoolwork
Academic challenges can have different causes. A child who avoids reading, loses their place, struggles to sit comfortably or finds instructions overwhelming may need support from several professionals.
Our assessment explores relevant areas of function, which may include:
-
Visual tracking and eye-movement skills.
-
Balance, posture and coordination.
-
Sensory-motor function.
-
Participation, attention and tolerance during activities.
-
Developmental history and everyday challenges.
Findings guide recommendations and referrals where appropriate. Our programs complement school support and clinical care; they do not replace formal ADHD or dyslexia assessment, evidence-based literacy instruction or prescribed treatment.
Brain Camp for Kids: Purposeful Practice Through Play
Brain Camp for Kids brings structured activities into a supportive environment where children can practise individually selected skills.
Depending on assessment findings, goals may include improving coordination, participating more comfortably in tasks, following activity sequences and building confidence through achievable challenges.
We work with parents to make goals meaningful beyond the clinic—in the classroom, during play and within family routines.
After-School Programs and Intensive Options
After-school programs provide opportunities for regular practice alongside your child’s school routine.
Intensive programs offer a more concentrated schedule for suitable children, with activities, pacing and rest tailored to their needs. Suitability, duration and current availability are discussed following consultation.
Progress is reviewed against individual goals. Every child’s response and timeline will differ.
Start Building Your Child’s Skills Today
You do not need to have every answer before asking for support. Begin with a conversation about what your child finds difficult, what they enjoy and what you hope will become easier.
